Who we are
LeviteAVC is a video production and social media company based in Centurion, Pretoria, working with South African and international clients. For the purposes of POPIA we are the responsible party for the personal information described on this page.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why we have it |
|---|---|
| Your name and WhatsApp number | You started a conversation with us using a WhatsApp link on this site. WhatsApp shows us the number you messaged from and the name on your profile. |
| Your email address | Only if you email us directly, or give it to us during an enquiry or engagement. |
| Business details you tell us | What your business does, which platforms you use, and what you are trying to achieve, so we can answer your enquiry properly. |
| Website usage data | Only if you accept cookies. Which pages you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what device you used, and whether you clicked a WhatsApp button. See the cookies section below. |
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not buy contact lists.
There is no contact form on this site, on purpose
Enquiries come through WhatsApp or email rather than a form. That means we only ever hold information you chose to send us in a message, and there is no database of form submissions sitting on this website waiting to be breached.
When you click a WhatsApp link here, the conversation happens inside WhatsApp and is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy terms as well as this notice.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and which are not. It sets cookies, so we ask before loading it.
Nothing analytics-related loads until you accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, Google is never contacted and no analytics cookies are set. The site works exactly the same either way. We do not use advertising or personalisation cookies at all.
| Cookie type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Set only after you accept. Distinguishes visitors so we can count page views and see which pages lead to enquiries. Typically expires after 2 years. |
| Your cookie choice | Stored in your browser so we do not ask again on every page. This is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us or to Google. |
Changed your mind? Clear this site's data in your browser settings, and the banner will ask again on your next visit. Declining then stops any further collection. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on to block Analytics across every site you visit.
Google processes this data on our behalf, and may do so outside South Africa. IP anonymisation is enabled, and we have not enabled advertising features or data sharing with other Google products.
On what legal basis do we process it?
- Your consent. You messaged us, or you accepted analytics cookies. You can withdraw either at any time.
- Performing a contract. If you become a client, we need your details to actually deliver the work and invoice you.
- Legal obligation. Invoices and financial records must be kept for periods set by South African tax law.
How long we keep it
| Enquiries that did not become work | Up to 12 months, then deleted |
| Client records during an engagement | For the duration of the engagement |
| Invoices and financial records | 5 years, as required by South African tax law |
| Content and footage we produced for you | As agreed in your engagement, and deleted on request unless we are required to keep it |
Client content, footage and consent
Where we produce content for a client, that content may contain personal information about other people, such as staff or customers appearing on camera. For that content the client is the responsible party and we act on their instructions.
Where filming involves patients or clients of a healthcare practice, consent must be obtained by the practice before we film or post, and handled under POPIA's rules for health-related information. We confirm this is in place before any shoot. Our guide on POPIA and patient content explains what that looks like in practice.
If you appear in content we produced and want it removed, contact us and we will act on it, and pass the request to the client where they control the account it was posted to.
Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us to do any of the following, free of charge, and we will respond within a reasonable period.
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep
- Stop using your details to contact you
- Object to processing on reasonable grounds
To make any of these requests, email leviteavc@icloud.com or message us on WhatsApp.
Security, and complaints
We keep personal information on password-protected devices and accounts, limit access to people who need it to do the work, and delete what we no longer need. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if information about you is compromised.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to active clients directly rather than left for you to notice.
